Targeted logistics management is just as important it as is to control the network formed by technology, assortment and delivery. The objectives laid down between a leading manufacturer of seating systems and Arnold Umformtechnik was, for example, to reduce the complexity of costs incurred with small parts by constructing a tailored logistics concept:

• clearly defined supplier profile
• a rational portfolio of products, which is supplemented where necessary by third party products
• reduced delivery lead times
• defined quality requirements
• warranty

Result: A number of different studies call for a reduction of costs by a minimum of 20% by establishing a new logistics system. Arnold’s comprehensive logistics system, which incorporates third-party suppliers, has raised the bar several notches by making savings of 35 per cent.
